Experimental and modeling studies of density and viscosity behavior of a live fluid due to CO₂injection at reservoir condition

In this study, highly accurate measurements of density and dynamic viscosities a recombined live oil its mixture with additional CO 2 were performed. The experiments carried out under pressure temperature gradients found in Brazilian Pre-salt reservoirs, that is, the range from (27.6 to 68.9) MPa at (333.15 353.15) K. assumption volume change on mixing is evaluated experimental results, influence upon assessed. densities mixtures are calculated considering ( i ) excess approach, ii no change. better correlated using approach Average Absolute Deviations (AAD) 0.03%. Thirteen rules viscosity examined by comparing predicted values + mixture. performance some compositional fractions (molar, weight) also evaluated. Thus, total 28 different ways calculate tested study. worst result was obtained Bingham’s method, leading 148.6% AAD. best Lederer’s method 2% AAD maximum deviation 5.8% fitting parameter α . addition, deviations presented predictive methods Chevron, Double log, Kendall did not exceed 9% AAD, weight (Chevron log) molar (Kendall Monroe).
